About the time he scored anyway

Bournemouth manager Jonathan Woodgate praised Tottenham Hotspur loan star Cameron Carter-Vickers for his goal performance against Bristol City.

Carter-Vickers have started each of Bournemouth’s seven league games since Woodgate was first named the club’s acting manager last month.

The 23-year-old, who only made two league appearances before Woodgate arrived, restored the manager’s confidence in him by scoring the latest winner in the Cherries 2-1 win over Bristol City on Wednesday.

Delighted with the Spurs loan star, Woodgate explained that it was high time the defender scored a goal and called his performance against the Robins fantastic.

It was about time he scored anyway“, wooden door told AFCB TV.

He was fantastic, by the way.

Woodgate also believes that Carter-Vickers and Steve Cook form a strong partnership behind Bournemouth.

I thought they were both absolutely exceptional in the game“, added the former Spurs star.

Really a good partnership, they go together.

They look really solid.

Carter-Vickers has made eleven appearances in all competitions for Bournemouth so far this season.
