Visitors say the light show at the Al Wasl Plaza at Expo 2020 Dubai is so awe-inspiring that it is worth the price of admission alone.
Tourists and residents of the UAE were mesmerized by the display, which “tells the story of the Arab region, the natural world, the cosmos and humanity’s endless quest for a better future”.
“I am absolutely impressed,” said Fatima Alremeithi, a resident of Abu Dhabi.
“It’s my first night here, and while I want to see each of the pavilions, if the only thing I saw was this exhibit, it would be worth it.
“It is an incredible feeling to watch this position here tonight as a proud Emirati.”
Indian Syed Afnaan, who has been on vacation in Dubai for a fortnight, said he was stunned by what he witnessed on Tuesday.
“The light show is the main attraction and it’s amazing,” he said.
“It’s my first night at the expo but I’ll definitely be back here before I get home.”
Nataliia Malyshko, also in Dubai on vacation, said the whole exhibit was “very, very good”.
“I am really impressed,” said the Russian tourist.
“It’s our first night here, but we’ll be back for sure. “
Ahmed Kotb, an Egyptian who has lived in Dubai for 15 years, said the sheer scale of the Al Wasl Plaza was difficult to understand.
“It’s like something you can only imagine, if I didn’t look at it with my own eyes I wouldn’t believe it was possible,” Kotb said.
“We’ve all spent four years wondering if the exhibit was just a dream, but now when you stand here inside you realize that yes it can be done. “
A British tourist described the exhibit as “very futuristic” and it was clear that there had been a lot of planning.
“I’m here because I want to see what the future of the world looks like,” said Paul Ford, on vacation in the UK.
“I want to see how things go and how I and my son can help shape the future.”
